Serra
Moss, D.C., Q.M.E., received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree
with Honors from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic
in 1995. She graduated on the Dean's list. She is Board Certified
and licensed by the State of California. She is Board Certified
in Radiology by the State of California Department of Health Services.
She has successfully completed many hours of continuing education
training in Workers' Compensation, Sports Injuries, and Orthopedic
Assessment and Rehabilitation.
During her internship
at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, she was a Clinical Teaching
Assistant in the Outpatient Clinic, a Supervisor in the Student
Clinic, and after graduation, an Instructor in the Diagnosis Department
(Clinical Orthopedics and Neurology). She also participated in Dermatology
Rotations at Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital in Norwalk in an extern
program developed by the college with the hospital.
The curriculum at Los Angeles College of
Chiropractic (the Advantage Program) emphasizesdiagnosis, clinical outcome measures, and focuses on sport
and injury rehabilitation. The training modules are evidence-based,
using "standardized patients," and later became a teaching
model for Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Moss is also a Qualified
Medical Evaluator (Q.M.E.) for the State Workers' CompensationBoard. QMEs perform the examinations
of injured workers that help determine the level of benefits to
be received by a worker. A physician must meet educational and licensing
requirements to qualify as a QME. They must also pass a test and
participate in ongoing education pertinent to the workers' compensation
evaluation process. More
Her formal training includes 1,000 hours of
clinical applied nutrition.
After working as an associate
practitioner with two of the busiest clinics in Newport Beach,
she opened a private practice in 1998.
In 2001 she received her appointment as a Qualified
Medical Evaluator for the State of California.
Her practice focuses on Injury Rehabilitation
of Auto, Work, and Sports Injuries.
